Stand-up comedian Samay Raina has been rocking the headlines after the release of his special ‘Still Alive’. And recently, he has broken his silence on senior comic Sunil Pal‘s harsh criticism during the India’s Got Latent controversy, saying Sunil Pal is a “frustrated man” who lacks mental peace and that he feels sorry for him.

What did Samay Raina say about Sunil Pal?

Speaking on The Longest Interview podcast hosted by Vaibhav Munjal, Samay was shown a photo of Sunil Pal and asked for his thoughts. He said, “I don’t think about him. One thing I learned very early on in my life is that if somebody is saying sh* about others, they are going through something. I don’t feel offended… It’s better if he is talking about me.”The young stand-up comedian added, “No matter if he’s talking good or bad about me, after all, he is talking about me. I feel bad for him.”Samay went on to add, “Something is bothering him, some insecurity. That man doesn’t have mental peace. I hope he gets peace. Someone who is at peace doesn’t enjoy disrupting anyone else’s peace of mind.”

Samay Raina’s dig at all ‘India’s Got Latent’ critics

Samay didn’t stop at Sunil Pal. He took a broader yet subtle swipe at everyone who spoke out against him during the controversy. He expressed, “All those who lashed out against us during the ‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy are all frustrated in life. Did Kapil Sharma say anything against us? Or did any good actor say anything? Many people could have come out and spoken against us, but nobody who was at mental peace did anything like that. Only the frustrated ones who decided to go after us.”

What Sunil Pal had said earlier about Samay Raina

During the height of the controversy, Sunil Pal had launched a scathing attack on Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia. “They are terrorists who use foul language and obscene content. They claim to be content creators, but they have no content and are not creators. I believe they should be punished with at least 10 years in prison for spreading such filth,” Pal had said.Notably, despite the public war of words, the two later collaborated on an advertisement together.

Samay Raina addresses the controversy in ‘Still Alive’

Samay Raina also addressed the fallout in his recently released special ‘Still Alive’, which moves away from conventional stand-up and takes a more reflective tone on the 2025 controversy. Referring to Sunil Pal’s advice to learn from Kapil Sharma, Samay quipped, “Sunil Pal said, ‘Learn from Kapil Sharma’. Kapil Sharma was supposed to come on our next episode. All the irrelevant people trying to get some limelight by kicking the f**ing dead at that time.”Samay also teased a second season of ‘India’s Got Latent’, giving fans plenty to look forward to.
