Fuel prices were increased across major Indian cities on Monday, marking the fourth hike in less than 10 days as oil marketing companies continued revising rates amid rising global crude prices and a weakening rupee. Petrol became costlier by Rs 2.61 per litre and diesel by Rs 2.71 per litre, pushing retail fuel rates sharply higher and adding pressure on household and transportation expenses.The latest revision raised petrol prices in Delhi by Rs 2.61 per litre to Rs 102.12, while diesel prices climbed by Rs 2.71 to Rs 95.20 per litre from Rs 92.49, according to industry sources.Also read: Fuel prices hiked again: Petrol, diesel rates raised by over Rs 2; 4th increase in 2 weeksFollowing Monday’s increase, cumulative hikes in petrol and diesel prices have nearly touched Rs 7.5 per litre since daily revisions resumed on May 15 after a prolonged freeze in rates.Among metro cities, Hyderabad recorded the highest petrol price at Rs 115.73 per litre after an increase of Rs 2.88, while Thiruvananthapuram followed at Rs 115.49 per litre. Jaipur saw the steepest rise in petrol prices at Rs 3.51 per litre, taking rates to Rs 113.35 per litre.Diesel prices also continued their upward trend, with Hyderabad recording the highest rate among the listed cities at Rs 103.82 per litre after a Rs 2.88 increase.
