French President Emmanuel Macron is once again facing online rumors after a new book claimed his wife, Brigitte Macron, became angry over alleged messages he sent to Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani. The claims quickly spread online after conservative commentator Candace Owens reacted to the story during her podcast this week. The controversy started after journalist Florian Tardif discussed details from his newly released book An (Almost) Perfect Couple during an interview with RTL France on May 12. Tardif claimed Brigitte Macron slapped the French president after allegedly seeing a message he sent to Farahani that reportedly read, “I find you very pretty.” The story brought back attention to a viral video from last year that showed Brigitte Macron pushing Emmanuel Macron while they were getting off a plane in Vietnam. At the time, Macron dismissed the moment and said the couple was simply joking around.Candace Owens reacted strongly to the latest report during her Wednesday podcast. The political commentator questioned the claims and suggested she did not believe the story.“So like everybody kind of knows Emmanuel Macron’s gay. So this is just implausible, like right on its face, that Brigitte Macron and Emmanuel Macron are arguing because he’s texting some hot actress, but that’s what they’re going with,” Owens said.

Candace Owens says Brigitte Macron lawsuit meeting could happen in June

According to Le Parisien, sources close to Brigitte Macron denied the claims made in Florian Tardif’s book. One source reportedly said the French first lady directly rejected the story and insisted she never checks her husband’s phone. Actress Golshifteh Farahani has also previously denied rumors linking her romantically to Emmanuel Macron.Even as the controversy continues online, Candace Owens is still involved in a legal fight with the French first couple. Last year, Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron filed a defamation lawsuit against Owens in Delaware after she repeatedly claimed Brigitte Macron was born a man. Owens later released a video series called Becoming Brigitte, where she made several controversial and unverified allegations about the couple.During her latest podcast, Owens hinted that she may revisit the topic again before the court hearing, which she said is expected to happen in June.“You know, just got court approaching. I think June is the meetup. I’m looking forward to it. I hope me and Brigitte get to meet one day in person. I think that should happen,” Owens said.Earlier this year, several people in France were convicted in a cyberbullying case connected to online abuse aimed at Brigitte Macron. Owens reacted to that news on social media and continued criticizing the French first lady despite the ongoing lawsuit. In another controversial claim made last year, Owens also alleged that the Macron family “paid for her assassination,” though she did not provide evidence to support the statement.
