K-pop sensation Hwang Chansung is taking a thrilling leap into new territory with his debut action role as Tae Geom in ‘Bloodhounds’ Season 2. The 2PM member expressed a mix of exhilaration and trepidation about tackling such physically demanding scenes, showcasing his determination to prioritize safety while delivering electrifying performances.

2PM’s Hwang Chansung is set to appear in his first action role in ‘Bloodhounds’ Season 2. During a press tour, the singer-actor spoke about his experience filming the series. Hwang Chansung takes on the role of Tae Geom, a character known for his swift, precise combat skills and sharp judgment in high-pressure situations. The series stars Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi.

Hwang Chansung says he likes action roles

As per AllKpop reportm, while speaking to the press on April 7 in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul, the actor discussed his experience playing the part. “I used to do acrobatics as part of 2PM, and since I enjoy action projects, I wanted to try a role that required physical performance. Director Kim Joo Hwan offered me the part, and since I really enjoyed Season 1, I was excited,” the 36-year-old noted.

Hwang Changsung was initially worried about the role

Changsung revealed that he put in significant effort before filming. “The preparation period was longer than I expected. The actors had already established a high level of action quality in Season 1, so I felt Season 2 would take it even further. Since this was my first time doing action, I was initially worried,” he admitted. The actor continued, “While the director and fellow actors praised my performance during filming, I personally still feel some regret. Still, I gave it my all, I poured in blood and sweat, just short of tears.”

Hwang Changsung prioritised avoiding injuries

“Timing and coordination in action scenes are crucial,” noted Hwang. He emphasized that avoiding injuries was his top priority. “A wrong kick could lead to pain or injury, so I was very cautious,” said the actor.‘Bloodhounds Season 2’ premiered on April 3 on Netflix.
